This report examines how ten countries have transitioned (switched), or are planning to switch, from traditional fuels such as wood, coal, charcoal, animal waste, and kerosene, to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as a cooking fuel. it identifies some findings that might be applicable for other countries. The ten countries include three in South America – Brazil, Ecuador and Peru; three in Africa – Ghana, Kenya and Senegal; three in Asia – India, Indonesia and Sri Lanka; and Turkey. A review of this document was conducted in 2018.
